=180

⇒b=180

−52

To find : The value of x i.e. m∠P = ?

Solution :

  • It is given that  m∠O = 44^{0}

                     m∠M = 85^{0}

  • We have to find the value of x i.e. m∠P.
  • From the figure, alternate angles are ∠M and ∠Q.
  • The measure of alternate angles are equal.

           ∴  ∠M = ∠Q

            ∴ ∠Q = 85^{0}    (∵ m∠M = 85^{0})

  • Now, the sum of all angles of a triangle is 180^{0}.
  • So, in ΔOPQ,

     m∠O + m∠P + m∠Q = 180^{0}

                  ∴ 44^{0} +85^{0} +x^{0} =180^{0}

                         ∴ 129^{0} +x^{0} = 180^{0}

                                    ∴ x^{0} = 180^{0} -129^{0}    

                                    ∴ x^{0} =51^{0}

  • ∴  The measure of x is 51^{0}.
