$3^{2log _{3}x }$ -2x-3=0
take $3^{2log _{3}x }$ 
this can be writen as $3^{log_{3} x^{2} }$
since $e^{logx} =x$, here
 $3^{log_{3} x^{2} }$=x².
so, the equatin becomes, x²-2x-3=0
solving, we get (x-3)(x+1)=0
∴ the values of x are 3,-1.
