x+y=14 and x-y=16 then x=?

x+y=14....(1)

x-y=16....(2)

From 2, we get

x=16+y.... (3)

Putting the value of x in 1

16+y+y=14

2y=2

y=1

Putting value of y in 3

x=16+1

x=17

Given:-

x+y= 14 ........(1)

x-y=16 .........(2)

add 1 and 2 , we get,

2x= 30

=> x= 15.........(3)

put value x= 15 in (1), we get

15+ y= 14

=> y= 14- 15= - 1

so , x= 15 and y = -1
