Find value of x- y if 17x + 12 y = 68 and 12x + 17 y = 48

Answer:

17x + 12 y =68 (I)

12x+17y =48 (ii)

subtrac equation..(ii) from equation..(i) equation we get

(17x-12x) +(12y-17y)=20

5x-5y=20

then

x-y =4

Hence required answer is 4
