Answer :
Question :–
Find the Final Velocity of the body if Initial Velocity of the body is 10 m/s , the Acceleration produced is (-10) m/s² and the time taken is 1 second.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To Find :–
The Final Velocity of the body.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Given :–
- Initial Velocity = 10 m/s
- Accelaration = -10 m/s²
- Time Taken = 1 s
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We know :-
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀First Equation of Motion :–
Where :-
- v = Final Velocity
- u = Initial Velocity
- a = Acceleration Produced
- t = Time Taken
Concept :-
- The Acceleration Produced is negative when the object is declarating or retarding.
⠀⠀⠀This is termed as Retardation.
- In Retardation , the Final Velocity is lesser than the initial velocity of the object.
- The final Velocity of the body will be 0 , if the body has come to rest.
Solution :-
Given :-
- u = 10 m/s
- a = - 10 m/s
- t = 1 s
Let the final Velocity be v m/s.
Using the First Equation of Motion and substituting the values in it, we get :-
Hence, the final Velocity of the object is 0 m/s.
