Find weather the following equation have real roots. if real root exist find 8xsquare+2x-3=0

Solution:

Compare given Quadratic equation 8x²+2x-3=0 with

ax²+bx+c=0, we get

a = 8 , b = 2 , c = -3

Discreminant (D) = b²-4ac

= 2²-4x8×(-3)

= 4+96

= 100

= 10²

> 0

Therefore ,

Roots are real and distinct.

By Quadratic Formula:

x =[-b±√D]/(2a)

= [-2±√10²]/(2×8)

= (-2±10)/16

Therefore,

x = (-2+10)/16 or x = (-2-10/16

=> x = 8/16 or x = -12/16

=> x = 1/2 or x = -3/4
