Let, nth term, 'an' of an A.P is 0

By using the formula , nth term ,an = a + (n -1)d

a + (n -1) d = 0

40 + (n -1) (-3) = 0

-3n = - 43

n = 43/3

Number of terms , n can't be a fraction.

Hence, 0 is not the term of the given AP.
