find whether the equation x-y=8 and 3x-3y=16 are consistent​

Given:

x-y=8 ----- eq.1

3x-3y=16 -----eq.2

now,

from equation 1

if x =0

x-y=8

0-y=8

-8=y

y= -8

if x=1

x-y=8

1-y=8

1-8=y

-7=y

y= -7

if x=2

x-y=8

2-y=8

2-8=y

-6=y

y= -6

from equation --- 2

3x-3y=16

if x=0

3x-3y=16

3.0-3y=16

-3y=16

y=16/-3

y= -5.3

if x=1

3x-3y=16

if x =2

3.2-3y=16

6-3y=16

-3y=16-6

y=10\-3
