Answer:

x + 1 = 0

i.e. x = -1

Now, p(-1) = (-1)⁴+(-1)³-3 x (-1)²+ 5 x (-1) + 3

p(-1) = 1 -1 -3 - 5 + 3 = -5

Thus, p(-1) is not equal to zero.

Hence, (x+1) is not a Factor of p(x).
