In the movie theatre there is darkness and because of the special feature of our eyes in the dark theatre it tries to adjust to the surrounding darkness by dilating the pupil...

When we come out of the dark theatre it takes some time to our eyes to again become normal...And that is why we feel discomfort

It is so because in dim light our pupil expands to allow light to enter our eyes and when we move to bright light area it take some time for it to contract so that right amount of light enters our eyes
