Answer:

√166 is the width

Step-by-step explanation:

l=4+2b

area =l×b

336=4+2b×b

4+2b^2=336

2b^2=332

b^2=166

b=√166

Answer:

Length = 4+2√166 , Width=√166

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

Area of rectangle is 336 cm

Length = 4+2b

Width = b

So,

Area of Rectangle = length  x breadth (or) width

336 = 4+2b x b

Transfer 4 to L.H.S

332 = 2b^2

Transfer 2 to L.H.S

332/2=b^2

166 = b^2

Apply square root on both sides

√166 = √b^2

square and root gets cancelled

Remaining,

√166=b

∴Width = √116

∴Length = 4+2√116

Hope it helps you,

Thank you,
