let's try substitution method .

x+3y=6

x=6-3y...............(3)

putting so in eq(2)

2(6-3y)-3y=12

12-6y-3y=12

-9y=0

y=0.....................(4)

putting y in eq(3)

x=6-3(0)

x=6
