Answer:

2x + 5y =1

2x = 1-5y

putting value of 2x in second equation

1-5y +3y = 3

2y = -2

y= -1

putting value of y in first equation

2x +5*-1 = 1

2x = 6

x = 3

Answer:

let, 2x+5y=1........eq(1)

2x+3y=3........eq(2)

in equation 1, 2x+5y=1

=>2x=1-5y

=>x=1/2-5y/2.........eq(3)

so now putting the value of eq(3) in eq(2),

we get, 2×1/2-2×5y/2+3y=3

=>1-5y+3y=3

=>-2y=3-1=2

=>y=-2/2=-1.......... eq(4)

now the value of y put in the equation 2,

we get, 2x+3(-1) =3

=>2x-3=3

=>2x=3+3=6

=>x=6/2=3........eq(5)

so the value of (x, y) =(3, -1).
