Answer:

(i) 2x+3=5

2x=5-3

x=2/2

x=1

34=x+3y

34-1=3y [since x=1]

33/3=y

11=y

(ii) x+1=3

x=3-1

x=2

y-2=1

y=1+2

y=3

Explanation :

(i) Here in 2x+3= 5 after following the steps x= 1.

Then here in 34= x+3y, put the value of x from above 34=1+3y then after the steps y= 11

(ii) Here first in x+1= 3 the value of x is 2.

And y-2=1 then y is equal to 3... { I hope my will be helpful....}

(i)  (1 , 11)

(ii) (2, 3)

Given:

(i) If (2x + 3, 34) = (5, x + 3y)

(ii) If (x + 1, y – 2) = (3, 1)

To Find:

Value of x and y.

Solution:

  • Let us solve (i)

2x + 3 = 5

=> 2x = 5-3

=> x = 1

x + 3y = 34

=> 1 + 3y = 34 ( As x=1)

=> 3y = 33

=> y = 11

Hence, the answer is (x,y) = (1,11).

  • Let us solve (ii)

x + 1 = 3

=> x = 2

y - 2 = 1

=> y = 3

Hence, the answer is (x,y) = (2,3)
