Solution:-

If ( x + 3y , 5 ) = ( 6 , 2x + y )

Now we can write

x + 3y = 6 ....(i)eq

2x + y = 5 ....(ii)eq

Solving by using substitution method

Taking ( i ) eq

x + 3y = 6

x = 6 - 3y .......(iii)eq

Take ( ii ) eq and put the (iii)eq

2x + y = 5

=>2× ( 6 - 3y ) + y = 5

=> 12 - 6y +y = 5

=> - 5y = 5 - 12

=> - 5y = - 7

=> y = 7/5

Put the value of y on (i)eq

x + 3y = 6

=> x + 3× ( 7/5 ) = 6

=> x + 21/ 5 = 6

=> 5x/5 + 21/5 = 6

=> 5x + 21 = 6 × 5

=> 5x + 21 = 30

=> 5x = 30 - 21

=> 5x = 9

=> x = 9/5

Answer:- x = 9/5 and y = 7/5
