x+y=8-------(1) equation

x-y= 2 ----(2) equation

Adding 1 and 2 equation

2x=10

x= 5

put the value of x =5 in equation (1) or (2)equation

equation (1)

x+ y = 8

5+y=8

y= 3

equation (2)

x-y= 2

5-y=2

-y= -3

y=3
