Answer:

x = y = 45°

Step-by-step explanation:

here, PQRS is a square and we know that opposite sides of square are equal and parallel and all angles of square is of 90°.

∵ B and C are mid points of PS and QR

so, PS = QR      [opposite sides of square are equal]

\frac{1}{2}PS = \frac{1}{2}QR ⇒ PB = QC

and, If B and C are mid points the it is equal and parallel to side PQ and SR.

PQ = BC = SR and PQ║BC║SR

now, In ΔAQC, AQ = QC       [half of sides of square are equal]

∴ ∠AQC + ∠ACQ + ∠QAC = 180°    [Angle sum property of Δ]

⇒ 90° + 2∠ACQ = 180°           [angle opposite to equal sides are equal]

⇒ 2∠ACQ = 180° - 90°

⇒ ∠ACQ = 45°

hence, ∠QAC = ∠ACQ = 45°

similarly, In ΔAPB, ∠PAB = ∠PBA = 45°

now, ∠PBA = x° = 45°

∵ PQ║BC and AC is transversal

∠ACB = QAC = y° = 45°

∴ x° = y° = 45°

hope it will help you.
