so angle Dbc=angle dcb (angles opposite to equal sides are equal.

angle cdb=180-96(linear pair)

=84

now in triangle dcb

angle dcb +angle Dbc +angle cdb=180 (angle sum property)

2 angle dcb+84=180 (angle dcb=dbc)

2 angle dcb=180-84

2 angle dcb=96

angle dcb=96

so y=48

now in triangle abc

angle abc+angle acb+ angle bac=180 (angel sum property)

90+48+x=180

138+x=180

x=180-138

x=42
