SOLUTION :

Given that Dx= 49 , Dy = -63 and  D=7

Now to find the values of x and y :

Put D=7 in Dx = 49 we get

⇒ (7)x = 49

$x=\frac{49}{7}$

∴ x=7

Put D = 7 in Dy=-63 we get

⇒ (7)y=-63

$y=\frac{-63}{7}$

∴ y=-9

∴ the values of x and y are 7 , -9 respectively.

The values are x=7 and y=-9.
