Let A(x,y) & B(a,b) be two points
Distance between two points is given by formula
D= √{ (y-b)^2 + (x-a)^2 }
here D=10
y=7
(a,b) = (1,5)
D= √{ (x-1)^2 + (7-5)^2}
10= √ { (x-1)^2. + 2^2}
100= (x-1)^2 +4
100=x^2 -2x+1+4
0= x^2 -2x -95
by using Discriminant method
x= 4+-√(4+4x1x 95)/2
x= (4+-√384) /2
