In triangle BAE -

AB = BE then,

∠BAE = ∠BEA = 54°

therefore,

∠ABE => 180° - (2×54) (by triangle sum property)

In triangle CBE -

∠CBE = 180° - ∠ABE (supplementary angles)

∠CBE = 180° - 72°

= 108°

And,BC = BE

SO,

∠BCE = ∠BEC = y

therefore,

108° + y + y = 180° (angle sum property)

180° - 108 = 2y

36° = y

∠DCE = 180° - ∠BCE

∠DCE = 180° - 36°

= 144° (anss) = x
