\huge\bold\red{Question}

 \\

  • Find x if 4, x, 32, 64 are in proportion

 \\

\huge\bold\red{Solution}

 \\

{\small{\sf{\red{To \: the \: value \: of \:}}}}{\small{\sf{\purple{x}}}}{\small{\sf{\red{, \: we \: will}}}}{\small{\sf{\red{Use \: the \: formula:-}}}}

{\small{\sf{\pink{Product \: of \: extremes=product \: of \: means}}}}

 \\

Now with this we will know what is 'means'.

  • Means is the middle part of the proportion.

And 'Extremes'.

  • This is the exterior part of the proportion.

This means two ratios are said to be in proportion only if product of means is equal to product of extremes.

  • i.e.,32×x=4×64

So now as x has to be founded in this case we will use algebraic expression to solve this.

 \\

  • \implies{\small{\sf{\red{32x=4×64}}}}

 \\

Now we will multiply extremes first.

 \\

  • \implies{\small{\sf{\red{32x=256}}}}

 \\

Then we will move 32 to R.H.S. as all constants needs to be on R.H.S by changing there sign.

So ×32 will be ÷32.

 \\

  • \implies{\small{\sf{\red{x=256÷32}}}}

 \\

Now on division 256 and 32 gives 8 as the quotient.

  • \implies{\small{\sf{\red{x=8}}}}

 \\

\small\bold\purple{Value \: of \: x \: is \: 8.}
