find x if if 4x - 3 / 2x+ 1 is equal to 5 / 7

4x-3/2x+1=5/7
7(4x-3)=5(2x+1)
28x-21=10x+5
18x=26
x=13/9

4x-3/2x+1 = 5/7 So by cross multiplication 7(4x - 3) = 5 (2x + 1) 28x - 21 = 10x + 5 28x - 10x = 5 +21 18x = 26 x = 18/26 Therefore the value of x = 13/9
