Question :

Q) find x , if mean of x+1 , x+2 , 2x+1 , x+3 and x-2 is 12?

Answer:

Given:

  • (x+1) , (x+2) , (x+3) , (2x+1) , (x-2) are numbers
  • mean of these numbers = 12

To Find:

  • value of x

Answer:

we know that ,

 \implies mean =  \frac{sum \: of \: numbers}{total \: number \: of \: numbers}

 \implies \frac{(x + 1) + (x + 2) + (x + 3) + (2x + 1) + (x - 2) }{5}  = 12

 \implies  \frac{x + 1 + x + 2 + x +  3 + 2x + 1 + x - 2}{5}  = 12

 \implies 6x + 5 = 12 \times 5

 \implies 6x = 60 - 5

 \longrightarrow x =  \frac{55}{6}

 \huge \tt \underline \orange {x =  \frac{55}{6} }
