 {( \frac{1}{5}) }^{ - 8} \times {( \frac{1}{5} )}^{ - 4} = { (\frac{1}{5}) }^{ - 4x} \\ \\ ({ \frac{1}{5}) }^{ - 8 - 4} = { (\frac{1}{5} )}^{ - 4x} \\ \\ { (\frac{1}{5}) }^{ - 12} = {( \frac{1}{5} )}^{ - 4x} \\ \\ bases \: are \: same \: so \: exponents \: are \: equal \\ \\ - 4x = - 12 \\ \\ x = 3
