The question tell us that , Two sides are equal and the length of the side is x,

Using Pythagorean Theorem,
It states that, In a right angles triangle, The sum of squares of sides on either side of 90° is equal to hypotenuse square !,

i.e Side² + Side² = Hypotenuse²,

Here Hypotenuse = 8, and both the sides are x,

Inputting the values in the question to get the value of x,

=> x² + x² = 8²,
=> 2x² = 64, Dividing both the sides with 2,
=> x² = 32, Applying square root on both the sides,
=> x = √32 = √(16*2),
=> x = Either +4√2 or - 4√2, But we know that, Length can't Negative or zero,

So the value of x = +4√2, And If you need further more answer,

Take √2 as 1.414,
Now x = 4*1.414 = 5.656,

So the value of x is +4√2 or ≈5.656,

Hope you understand, Have a great day !
