40 + 6x + 2  + 90 = 180
6x=180-132
x=8

Given , angle AOB = 40°

angle BOC = ( 6x + 2 )°

since , the perpendicular AO bisecting the given straight line at 90 ° . therefore ,the measure of angle AOC will be equal to 90°.

here , 40° , ( 6x + 2 )° are acute angles.

since , we know that

sum of acute angles = 90°

40° + ( 6x + 2 )° = 90°

40° + 6x + 2 = 90°

42 ° + 6x = 90°

6x = 90 - 42 = 48

6x = 48 => x = 8

therefore , value of x = 8

Answer: x = 8
