In series with what? What part of the circuit? What circuit, exactly?
In general, if it is a linear all-resistor circuit and you add a resistor in series with it, total resistance goes up.
But if it involves amplifying and/or nonlinear devices, all bets are off. It depends on where you add the resistors. Do you mean “externally” in series with the entire circuit, or somewhere in the circuit in series with some other circuit element?
If it is a circuit wired to act as a constant current load, then adding a series resistance will only change the range over which the circuit can maintain constant current.
