{( - 5)}^{x ^{1} }   \times  ( - 5) {}^{5}  = ( - 5) ^{7}  \\

 \implies \: ( - 5) {}^{x}  \times  {( - 5)}^{5}  =  {( - 5)}^{7}

\large\ \: \red{since  \:  \: the \:  bases  \: are \:  equal , their  \: powers }

\large\ \: \red{  will  \: also  \: be  \: equal}

 \implies  {( - 5)}^{(x + 5)}  =  {( - 5)}^{7}

 \implies \: x + 5 = 7

 \implies \: x = 7 - 5 \\  = 2
