(i) x/2, 5/6 will be equivalent if

➠ 6 × x = 5 × 12

➠ x = 5 × 12/6

➠ 5 × 2 = 10

  • Hence, x = 10

(ii) 15/x, -3/8 will be equivalent if

➠ 15 × 8 = (-3) × x

➠ x = 15 × 8/-3

➠ -5 × 8 = -40

  • Hence, x = -40.

\huge\red{\tt{\underline{Solution:-}}}

(i)  \:  \frac{x}{12} , \frac{5}{6}  \: will \: be \: equivalent\: if

\implies = 6 \times x = 12 \times 5

\implies = x = 5 \times  \frac{12}{6}

\implies \:  5 \times 2 = 10

(ii)  \:  \frac{15}{x} , \frac{ - 3}{8}

\implies 15 \times 8 =  - 3 \times x

\implies   \frac{15 \times 8}{ - 3}

\implies   - 5 \times 8 =  - 40
