solution:-

given:- the rational numbers in each of the following pairs become equivalent 8 by 7 and X by - 35

hence ...

=> 8 / 7 = x / -35

So,

x / -35 = 8 / 7

x = 8 * ( -35 ) / 7

x = - 280 / 7

x = - 40

hence x = - 40 is the Answer.

Note:- ( / ) is sign of divide and ( * ) is sign of multiply.

i hope it helps you.

 \frac{x}{( - 35)}  =  \frac{8}{7}  \\ =   > x = ( - 35)(8)  \div 7 \\  =  > x =  - 40
