Find [(x + y) ÷ (x - y)] if :

(i) x = 5/4 , y = 1/2
( ii) x = 2/3 , y = 3/2

1) (x+y ) ÷ (x-y)

x= 5/4 & y = 1/2

= (5/4 + 1/2) ÷ (5/4-1/2)

=[( 10+ 4)/8 ] ÷ [ (10 - 8)/ 8]

= 14/8 ÷ 2/8

by simplifying both :

= 7/4 ÷ 1/4

= 7

2) x=2/3 & y =3/2

= (2/3 + 3/2 )÷ ( 2/3 -3/2)

=( [ 4+9] /6 ) ÷ ( [ 4-9] / 6 )

= 13/6 ÷ ( - 5)/ 6

= - [ 13/5 ]
