x + z = 50 (alternate opp. angles)...eq 2

x + y + z = 180...eq 3

from eq 1 : z = 40- y

put in eq 2 : x + 40 - y = 50

x - y = 10

now x= 10+y

put the values of x and z in eq 3

10+y +40- y +y = 180

50 + y = 180

180 - 50 = y = 30

put the value of y in eq 1 for getting value of z

30 + z = 40

z = 10

similarly in eq 2 put the value of z for finding the value of x

x + 10 = 50

x = 40
