Since P is equidistant from A and B

  PA = PB

∴ PA² = PB²

(1 -2)² + ( x - 3)² = ( 1 -2)² + (x +1)²

 1 + x² + 9 - 6x = 1 + x² + 1 + 2x

          10 - 6x = 2 + 2x

              8x = 8

               x = 1
