find yhe equation of the locus of a point such that the sum of their distance from (0,2)&(0,-2) is 6

the formula for distance between 2 points is
 \sqrt{ {(x2 - x2)}^{2} + {(y2 - y1)}^{2} }
Therefore let (x,y) be the general point.
Means
 \sqrt{ {(x - 0)}^{2} + {(y - 2)}^{2} } + \sqrt{ {(x - 0)}^{2} + {(y + 2)}^{2} } = 6
If you simplify the above you should get the right answer.
