Answer :

  • Solve for x

(x+6)(x+2)=x

x^{2}+8x+12=x

x^{2}+8x+12-x=0

x^{2}+7x+12=0

x^{2}+7x=-12

x^{2}+7x+\left(\dfrac{7}{2}\right)^{2}=-12+\left(\dfrac{7}{2}\right)^{2}

x^{2}+7x+\dfrac{49}{4}=-12+\dfrac{49}{4}

x^{2}+7x+\frac{49}{4}=\frac{1}{4}

\left(x+\frac{7}{2}\right)^{2}=\frac{1}{4}

\sqrt{\left(x+\frac{7}{2}\right)^{2}}=\sqrt{\frac{1}{4}}

x+\frac{7}{2}=\frac{1}{2}

x+\frac{7}{2}=-\frac{1}{2}

  • x=−3
  • x=−4

Thank you !!
