↠ x² – 2x – 8 = 0

↠ x² – 4x + 2x – 8 = 0

↠ x(x – 4) + 2(x – 4) = 0

↠ (x – 4) (x + 2) = 0

↠ x = 4 & – 2

∴ Therefore, the zeroes of the polynomial are α = 4 and β = – 2 respectively.

a = 1

b = – 2

c = – 8
