Answer:

x=1/2 & x=-7/4

Step-by-step explanation:

8x²+10x-7

8x²+14x-4x-7

8x²-4x+14x-7

4x(2x-1)+7(2x-1)

(2x-1)(4x+7)=0

x=1/2 & x= -7/4. (Ans.)

Given:

  • P(x)=8x²+10x-7

To Find:

  • Zeroes

Solution:

P(x)=8x²+10x-7 \\ 0 = 8x²+10x-7 \\  0 = 8 {x}^{2}  + 14x - 4x - 7 \\  0 = 2x(4x + 7) - 1(4x + 7) \\ 0 = (4x + 7)(2x - 1) \\

therefore zeroes are

4x + 7 = 0 \\ 4x =  - 7 \\  \boxed{x  = \frac{ - 7}{4} }

OR

2x - 1 = 0 \\ 2x = 1 \\  \boxed{x =  \frac{1}{2} }

zeroes are (-7)/4 or ½ .
