solution

1.

a = 5

d = 2

nth term = 14

an = ?

an = a+(n-1)*d

=5+(14-1)*2

=5+13*2

=5+26

=29

2.

a = -7

d = 3

an = 44

nth term = ?

an = a+(n-1)*d

44 = -7+(n-1)*3

44+7 = 3(n-1)

51 = 3(n-1)

51/3 = n-1

17 = n-1

17-1 = n

16 = n
