We need to get the length of the rhombus

A rhombus has four equal sides.

The perimeter is :

4l where l is the length of the sides.

We want l:

4l = 36

l = 36/4 = 9

The length of the sides is thus 9cm

Area is:

A = length × altitude (height)

= 9 × 4 = 36 cm²

36   cm² is the area of a rhombus whose altitude is 4 cm and perimeter is 36 cm

Given : a rhombus whose altitude is 4 cm and perimeter is 36 cm.

To Find :  Area of a rhombus

Solution:

Properties of Rhombus :

All Sides are equal

Diagonals bisects each other perpendicularly

Let say side length of Rhombus = a  cm

Perimeter of Rhombus = 4a  cm

Perimeter of the rhombus = 36 cm

Equate Perimeter

=> 4a = 36

=> a = 9  cm

Area of Rhombus  =  side  * altitude

= 9 x 4

= 36 cm²

Hence area of the  rhombus is 36   cm²
