6.5-3.9=2.6
so percentage
= 2.6/6.5 ×100
=2/5 ×100
=40 %

Given:

Mass of the pumpkin before carved in =  6.5 kg

Mass of the pumpkin after carved in = 3.9 kg

To FInd:

The percentage decrease

Solution

Find the decrease:

Decrease = 6.5 - 3.9

Decrease = 2.6 kg

Find the percentage decrease:

Percentage decrease = (decrease ÷ original) x 100

Percentage decrease = (2.6 ÷ 6.5) x 100

Percentage decrease = 40%

Answer: There was a 40% decrease in mass of the pumpkin.
