bro, if you are in earth and firing something chemical reaction takes place but in space especially in stars nuclear reaction take place only the chemical reaction need oxygen , nuclear reaction takes place even if there is no oxygen present there.

because Sun is made up already three element so that don't need to air to burn the elements are Hydrogen nitrogen and heleim and other small elements
