RANCHI: A sudden fire destroyed a major portion of RR Sporting Club puja pandal, town’s one of the best, on Friday morning, burning down organizers’ grand plans of show and celebrations. No damage to human or other properties was reported in the fire.
The 70 feet pandal was receiving finishing touches on Friday, hours before scheduled opening. Men working at the site noticed smoke but could do nothing before it turned into monstrous flames. Fire tenders arrived fast but not before flames reached the interior and all the idols.
