Answer:

Fire prevention is better than fire fighting

It is absolutely true fire prevention is better than fire fighting because once the fire gets out of control it gives no chance to control it without damaging things and human beings.

Fire accidents wreak considerable havoc in India. As many as 25,000 people die in fire accidents in the nation. Apart from loss of precious lives, a whooping financial loss is also caused by the fire accidents. According to an estimate things worth ₨ 1000 crores are burnt to ashes in the industrial and non-industrial buildings.

Many of these ghastly accidents can be prevented if proper fire safety measures are taken. Though the government has made quite strict fire-safety laws, yet people continue to disregard them.

Not only should we be cautious and proactive in dealing with fire-related accidents, we should also have the required fire safety equipment installed at buildings and sites. The moment we feel any suspicion regarding possible fire mishap, we should take preemptive action.

In all the important buildings such as schools, colleges, hospitals, hotels, manufacturing units, industry, offices, etc., automatic fire sprinklers along with fire detection systems should be installed. Cheaper fire safety measures such as sand-buckets, water-tubes, etc. can be very handy in handling fire emergencies.

Finally the Government must implement fire safety laws with an iron hand. People who disregard fire-safety laws should be brought to justice, and their buildings should be immediately sealed.

Let’s join hands in curbing fire accidents and make our nation a safer place to live in.
