according to the question a triangle is formed by the ladder, building and the ground.

applying Pythagoras theorem,

( height of the window)²=( length of ladder)²-( distance between the base of the building and the base of the ladder)²

=(13)²-(5)²

=169-25=144

so, height of the window=√144

therefore, height of the window is 12 m

according to the question a triangle is formed by the ladder building and the ground applying Pythagoras theorem (height of the window )2=(length of the ladder) 2-(distance between the base of the building and the base of the ladder) 2

=(13×13)-(5×5)

=169-25= 144

so therefore the height of the window is equals to 144 square is nothing but 12 metre
