First and second ionisation energies of magnesium are 7.646 and 15.035 eV respectively. The amount of energy in kJ needed to convert all the atoms of magnesium into Mg2+ ions present in 12 mg of magnesium vapours is:[Given : 1eV = 96.5 kJ mol-1]

The answer which I give maybe wrong as I am still a novice.
Add the electron volts and multiply it with 96.5 and keep the result aside. Then fid the no of moles by unitary method.
12g-----1mol
1.2g-----?
You will get 0.1mol.
now multiply the result with 0.1 and I got the answer as 218.87165 kJ.
Sorry if I am wrong.
