First day back after the summer holidays

It was lovely to see all the children arrive at school this morning after the summer holidays.  Today is a very special first day at school for our new reception (Parrot) class children and parents.  I would like to send a warm welcome to all the new children and their families who have joined us today. 

It is always a privilege to observe lessons across the school and today was particularly special as there were some lovely lessons happening.  I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Parrot class this morning - they were playing a game with Mrs Bennett, Mrs Long and Pip the puppet parrot.  When I visited Kingfisher, Falcon and Owl classes, they were all involved in circle times, telling each other about their adventures during the summer holidays and writing about their experiences.

I am looking forward to an exciting Autumn term!
