It’s incredibly obvious that it’s the egg.Chickens evolved around 50 million years ago, and hard-shelled eggs that can be laid on land appeared about 300 million years ago.Also, there can never be a chicken without first a chicken egg. A chicken egg however, can be born to non-chicken parents, this kind of thing happens often in nature, either as a result of crossing multiple genes during breeding, or by having a mutation in the offspring.
