First high level computer language is FORTRAN

Explanation:

  • FORTRAN  was the first high level  language used for programing and that was invented by John Backus fin 1954, released in 1957. Formula translation is the expansion of FORTRAN. It was used today for programming both scientific, mathematical applications.
  • Mr. backus invented a programming language with combination of shorthand and algebra. Fortran is similar to the  formulas in algebra and used for engineers for their daily works.
