In 1972 Bol sold its Uganda operation to Bank of Baroda. The next year Bol opened a representative office in Jakarta. In 1974 Bol opened a branch in Paris. This was the first branch of an Indian bank in Europe.

Bank of India was the first Indian bank to open the branch outside India at London in 1946.
